HILDA SYSTEM

Another hurdle concerned with the quality of Malaysian honey. Malaysia’s tropical climate, coupled with its high humidity, results in honey with high moisture content. Moreover, with temperatures averaging 28◦-30◦C, some fermentation of the honey product is inevitable, thus, leaving a sour taste and foamy texture, in which depreciating the value of Malaysian honey internationally.

Active fermentation due to high moisture content leads to foamy and souring honey

HILDA System is a working station that have been developed for the purpose of hygienic honey management at community level. The system integrates elements of working bench, honey dehydration component, bee pollen and bottle drying rack, honey suction pump and honey dispenser unit.

HILDA SYSTEM

Aiming towards honey industry transformation, HILDA system invention is based on a model of “mini lab” that creates a multipurpose working station which could solve several problems of post-harvest management among beekeepers in rural and helps to improve the quality of honey and bee pollen output. The problems include foamy and souring honey, lack of SOP and cross contamination. Dehydration process via HILDA system is not using  heating element yet effective, thus avoiding honey deterioration whilst ensuring local honey to meet international standard of moisture content at 20 %.
